The focus of this book is to teach two-mallet technique through the playing of familiar tunes. Based on nearly seventy years of collective teaching experience, we have found this to be a most stimulating, rewarding and enjoyable approach to learning how to play mallet percussion instruments. A greater desire to practice is experienced and more positive results follow.

The songs in this collection progress from very easy to somewhat more difficult, and you may find that learning each piece in this order is a good way to study the book. However, it is not neces- sary to play the book straight through, as you and/ or your teacher may wish to select particular songs from various parts of the collection for your specific needs and interests.
