A haunting melody, some refreshing harmonic turns, and an alto sax solo (as written or improvised) give this rock ballad great appeal and dimension. Keeping a steady pulse, playing with plenty of expression and achieving good blend will be the key challenges for young jazz bands. In his score notes Shutack also points out that, although written figures in the rhythm parts are fairly sparse, the ones that are there should be emphasized.
